Chikoo (also known as sapodilla or sapota) is a much-loved tropical fruit with a distinctive caramel-brown flesh and honey-sweet flavour with notes of brown sugar and pear. The Valsad and Surat districts of Gujarat are India's primary chikoo-growing regions and export the highest-grade fruit globally.
