FAQ
Practical questions
Straight answers about the Bali retreat and how the trips work. If yours is not here, write to us.
Do I need my own travel insurance?
Yes. Every guest must hold travel insurance in their own name for the whole trip, including medical cover and cancellation. It is a condition of booking, and we will ask for the policy number before you leave. Natural Life Culture does not sell insurance and does not recommend a particular policy. Choosing a policy is your decision.
Are flights included?
No. The price is land only. You book your own flights. For the Bali retreat, the group airport transfer runs at set arrival and departure times, not whenever each flight lands. We will publish those times before you need to book.
What does the Bali trip cost?
From A$2,690 per person, twin share, for 7 nights, about 1–8 May 2027. That covers the room, three vegetarian or Ayurvedic meals a day, set airport transfers, daily yoga and meditation, local walks and activities, one local practitioner session, and a Natural Life Culture host. It does not cover flights, visa or arrival fees, travel insurance, or personal extras.
Can I pay on this website?
No. The retreat pages collect interest only. Joining the waitlist does not hold a place and does not take a payment. When bookings open, we will send written terms before you pay anything.
What is the deposit, and when is it refunded?
The planned deposit is A$250 per person. It holds a twin-share place once bookings are open. The trip is confirmed only when at least 8 guests have paid. The planned go/no-go date for Bali is 29 January 2027. If the minimum is not reached, every deposit is refunded in full. After the trip is confirmed, the planned schedule is A$1,000 within 7 days, then the balance 60 days before departure. Final wording will be in the booking terms.
What if I need to cancel after I have paid?
We are not taking money yet, so there is nothing to cancel. Cancellation rules will be in the written terms you see before you pay a deposit. Change-of-mind refunds and the deposit are different things, and the terms will say which is which. Your own travel insurance is there for the costs a refund does not cover.
How many people are on a trip?
The week is planned for about 10 to 14 guests, plus the partner teacher and a Natural Life Culture host. We will not run it for fewer than 8 paying guests.
Who leads the yoga?
A partner teacher who is co-hosting that trip. For the first Bali retreat we are looking for one Melbourne partner. We will name them on the retreat page once they are confirmed. We will not invent a teacher.
What is the food like?
Three meals a day, vegetarian, and Ayurvedic in style where the kitchen cooks that way. Tell us about allergies on the form. This is not a fast, a detox diet, or medical nutrition.
What does digital detox mean?
Phones go away during sessions and meals, and one day of the week is fully offline. It is a break from the screen. It is not a medical detox and it is not a punishment. You can still reach family in an emergency. We will explain how before the trip.
How fit do I need to be?
The week is gentle to moderate: yoga, walking, and rest. The sunrise trek on the Bali sample itinerary is optional and depends on fitness. If stairs, heat or a particular practice will be a problem, say so when you register and we will tell you whether the week is suitable.
Do I have to share a room?
The published price is twin share. If you are travelling on your own we will try to match you with another guest. A room to yourself is not included. Ask us and we will say if one is possible, and what it would cost, before you pay.
Is the Bali venue booked?
Not yet. It will be in Ubud or Sidemen. We will confirm the house before we ask anyone to pay a deposit. The itinerary on the retreat page is a sample of the pace, not a locked schedule.
What about visas, the Bali levy, and government travel advice?
Visa and arrival fees are not included. For Bali that means Indonesia’s e-VOA and the Bali tourist levy, which you arrange yourself. Before you travel, read the current Smartraveller advice for the country. We will point you to it again in the pre-trip notes. Advice levels change, so the website does not try to be the official source.
Are India and Sri Lanka bookable?
No. Those pages describe the kind of week we have in mind. There is no date and no price until a partner and a venue are real.
I teach yoga or run a group. Can I bring them?
Yes. That is the model. You lead the sessions and invite your people. We handle the trip. Start on the partner page. One partner per trip.
